I enjoyed Pune Leh Pune tour recently on my Karizma-R Motorcycle. I am sharing the information and experiences during this journey with you all to help you to make your trip even better.
Team Size: Two
Motorcycles: Honda CBR 250/ Karizma-R
Carriers used with Karizma-R:
1. Claw Saddle Bag by ViaTerra: Perfect saddlebag if planning for solo drive. Quick to mount and unmount on bike.
2. Tank bag: Handy one to carry eatables, cameras, and all stuff needed at run time. Only issue is, it damages your tank paint as magnets are powerful.
Route: Pune-Thane-Rishabhdeo-Ratangad-Amritsar-Sonmerg-Leh-Keylong-Bilaspur-Behror-Khalghat-Pune
Backup and safety equipments carried/Replaced:
1. Replaced tube tyres with tubeless one. I will suggest everyone to do that. Don't save money on this front.
2. Puncture kit for tubeless tyre
3. One tube in case of tyre burst
4. Clutch lever and front break lever
5. Fuse
6. Headlamp
7. Clutch wire
8. Accelerator wire
9. Foot pump
10. Tool box
11. Spark plug
12. Fevi quick
Documents to carry:
1. RC book
2. Vehicle insurance
3. ID proof doc
4. Driving licence
5. PUC doc
Riding gears etc:
1. Jacket having all protection at chest, shoulders, back and elbow
2. Knee protection guard
3. Hand Gloves for riding
4. Woolen gloves for protection from cold. Note : Check that your riding gloves can fit easily over woolen gloves in chilled weather.
5. Medical rubber gloves. In case there is rain we need to pull it over woolen gloves so that it will not wet.
Other things to carry:
1. Medical kit
2. Eatables
3. Clothes: carry old clothes which could be throw away once used.
4. Bungee cords
5. Notebook and pen
6. Camera
7. Mobile : ln Leh it seems only BSNL or AirTel works.
8. Charger
9. Torch
10. Rain coat: prefer duck back if possible
11. Gum boots
12. 4 to 6 sets of sox: need to wear multiple sox to get rid off cold
